Lorem Ipsum Motorcycle Picnic

  • Driftless Books and Music (map)

Owners and riders of old motorcycles (you can decide whether or not your motorcycle is old) are invited again to Railroad Avenue in Viroqua, outside the Forgotten Works Warehouse (Driftless Books & Music) for a picnic lunch on the third Saturday of July. We will serve the usual organic sausage on the best roll we can find, topped with Fizzeology Kimchee or Kraut (or not) with a side of chips. We might add watermelon this year. Depends on if there’s any good melons around. Bring your own drinking vessel for drinking, or we will sell you a stainless steel cup. There will be some kind of cold beverages but we don’t know what those will be yet. You are welcome to bring your own fluids. You are also encouraged to bring snacks or drinks to share. While we created this event in 2010 to invite riders of “vintage” motorcycles to Viroqua because we felt all routes to our fair city offer a very good riding experience, the event is open to all, motorcycle or not. If you live in the area and just want to be around a bunch of motorcycles, how about riding over on your bicycle? As always, there will be 72 sausage meals for sale, and a handful of sardine lunches for non-sausage eaters. There are also 28 commemorative t-shirts on order, plus about a dozen shirts from years past that we will sell at a deep discount to clear out the inventory. If the forecast turns sour, we will announce a rain date via Facebook by noon on Friday, July 19. We look forward to seeing you all again this year, and hope to see some new faces.

You will notice we marked the end time as 1pm. If there are still sausages to sell and people are still buying, we’ll keep selling. If we’re sold out by 1pm, we will start talking about group ride around the Viroqua, maybe something where you can peel off in your direction of home, kind of like a giant roundabout. Moron that later.
