Touch of History

  • Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells (map)

The Sauk County Historical Society is excited to announce a new interactive event called A Touch of History coming Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 10 am to 3 pm. This family-friendly event will bring together unique vintage vehicles of all kinds for people to see up close and even sit in. This is “everything but a car show” as it will include mostly “non-cars” such as a 1959 fire truck, a WWII army jeep, a Studebaker truck with a vintage aluminum camper, vintage semi-tractors, and other unique vehicles. There will be a few unique cars such as a 1903 Michigan automobile (one of only three known to exist), a 1981 DeLorean, and other surprises.
The event will be held at the Ho-Chunk Gaming Casino Hotel and Convention Center campus in the southeast parking lot. Besides lots of great vintage vehicles the event will also feature food trucks, photo ops, and games. Las Milpas Mexican Food Truck and Franny Franks Hot Dogs and Italian Beef Sandwiches will be on hand for tasty lunch options. This new event is made possible by generous sponsors including Sauk Prairie Remodeling Inc., Baraboo State Bank, Bekah Kate’s, Badger Excavating & Plumbing LLC, Nanci Jenks RE/MAX Preferred, and Hausmann Group. There will be a small admission charge of $5 per person with a max of $20 per family. The Sauk County Historical Society was established in 1905 and works year-round to enrich people by sharing history and cultivate connections to the past.
