Royal Banks’ ‘Cash Mob’ visits new Elroy Business
On Wednesday June 26th, two waves of employees called the ‘Cash Mob” from the Main branch of the Royal Bank in Elroy, Wisconsin, paid a visit to the ‘Guys and Gals’ salon.
The ‘Cash Mob’, is a community relations initiative started back in 2015 and now overseen by Assistant Vice-president of Brand Development, Natalie Adams.
Royal issues some employees a predetermined amount for some employees to spend at a designated business to help promote and support them.
Royal chooses a different business each month within the nineteen communities it serves. The bank is a firm believer that small business is vital to a community, and need support of other businesses within in their community.
Guys and Gals salon owner Tricia Johnson, is originally from Elroy and grew up close to her salon. Johnson currently resides in Reedsburg and plans on moving back to the area.
Johnson’s salon which was originally ‘Twin’s Salon for forty years, continues to see customers from that business carry over and become her new customers
Asked how she came to have the ‘Cash Mob’ pay her a visit, Johnson said, “They called me one day and said “We do this thing to help out area businesses, would you like to be involved?”, and I said absolutely, send them over. That’s how it happened.”
Johnson stated it’s nice to give out knowledge on hair and product. “Knowledge is a big thing,” she said.
Johnson admitted that business has been pretty good, and acknowledged there is a slow day every week, and it changes every day which day it is going to be. She stated she always would like to be busier, with a smile.
“The salon is beautiful, decorative, and welcoming. It’s really nice to have her here in town,” said Royal Bank employee and ‘Cash Mob’ participant Heather Mobley.
