It was September of 1998. My daughter Anna was born in July 1996. My wings were severely clipped due to working in Madison and commuting an hour each way to work each day.
2013 trout season was a major bust for me due to lack of mobility. I had my worst big trout year of my life.
We lived in Milwaukee. My father and mother hated the big city. We lived there because that is where the welding and steam fitting jobs were plentiful. He was born and raised in a small town in northern Wisconsin.
I need to give a little background to begin the story. Recently I have been doing lots of presentations at schools to encourage young people to take up fishing. Along the way I was asked to speak at some nursing homes also. I have spoken at five now and have a couple more scheduled. My wife used to work at a nursing home and she thought it was a good thing for the retired folks. She called it bringing the trout stream to them.
